What orthodontic treatment is trying to change

Orthodontic treatment moves teeth gradually to improve crowding, spacing and selected bite problems. The safest plan depends on the teeth, supporting bone, gums, facial growth, habits and the movement that is actually required; a clear aligner is not automatically suitable for every case.

Active decay or gum disease should be addressed first. A consultation should explain the realistic goal, alternatives, estimated stages, likely refinements and what happens if the teeth do not track as planned.

Fixed braces and aligners have different demands

Fixed braces stay on the teeth and can provide control for complex movements, but they require careful cleaning around brackets and wires. Aligners can be removed for eating and cleaning, but they need consistent wear and may not deliver a planned movement if they are left out too often.

Ask who reviews the treatment, how frequently appointments occur, what is included in the quote and whether retainers are provided. Do not start treatment from a generic simulation without a clinician checking your teeth and gums.

Retention is part of the treatment

Teeth can move after active orthodontic treatment, so retainers and follow-up are important. Brush and clean between teeth carefully, attend reviews and contact the team if a bracket, wire or aligner edge causes a sore spot. A Gaziantep orthodontic consultation can help match the method to your goals and routine.
